As winter approaches, we take this opportunity to express our hakarat hatov to Hashem as we close the door on a most rewarding and productive Fall season, and look forward to the renewal (and workshops!) that Tu B’shvat brings. We continue to enhance our resources and learning opportunities, such as our Vayechi D’var Torah that you will find linked below.

In this newsletter, we recap some of our fall programming with Anafim and Shorashim partner school features. We also have our new store, and a few January days still available for Tu B’Shvat workshops.

Lastly, we end off this message with two requests to help us improve: you’ll find links to give us your feedback and an end of year gift below.

FALL RECAP

We are immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to work with all of our program partners this fall! While it feels bittersweet to bid our gardens adieu for the winter, it also feels appropriate to give our gardens a rest, especially in this Shmita year! Throughout the winter, the organic materials that students spread across the garden beds will feed the soil for nutrient-dense spring planting!

Our brand new Anafim program is marking its first season as a beautiful success in eight schools across five states! Teachers at our Anafim schools have been meeting regularly, both as a group for cohort-wide professional development and 1-1 with Farmer Sara for consultation, guidance, and support. We are thrilled to cultivate so many new relationships through this program!

For the next two months we are all hands on deck for Tu Bshvat and Shmita workshops! Request a date NOW before we’re fully booked! Tu B’Shvat workshops include Shmita themes and environmental stewardship through experiential lessons.

HAPPY MERGE-A-VERSARY

On December 10, 2019 we completed the merger of GrowTorah and Canfei Nesharim! BARUCH HASHEM! It was really tough getting hit with a pandemic 2.5 months after we merged, but our incredible board, team, and farmily have helped us along the way, and to get to this point.

We launched our end of year campaign on Chanuka and Giving Tuesday, and called it “Grow The Light”. With the help of over 150 of YOU, our farmily, we were able to raise $67,293 towards our $75,000.
